THIS IS AN ANTIQUE FORGED SOLERING IRON THAT WAS MADE BACK IN THE 1800'S. IT BELONGED TO MY GREAT GRANDFATHER WHO CAME FROM PRUSSIA, I'M TOLD. THIS WAS HEATED WITH A BLOW TORCH OR BY LAYING IT IN THE HOT COALS OF A FORGE. THEN WHEN IT WAS RED HOT USED TO SOLDER VARIOUS ITEMS. THIS WAS BEFORE THERE WERE ELECTRIC SOLDERING IRONS. THE IRON IS 14 1/2" LONG AND THE TIP IS 3" LONG AND MADE OF COPPER.
THIS IS A GREAT PIECE FOR ANTIQUE TOOL COLLECTORS. THE WOODEN HANDLE HAS BEEN REPLACE, RECENTLY DUE TO WOOD ROT OR BURNS.
ASKING: $25.00 OBO, CASH, NO CHECKS, NO SHIPPING, NO HOLDS.
