Seasonal /Part-Time Position
The Sussex Shores Community Association is seeking dependable, observant, and community-oriented individuals to serve as Part-Time Neighborhood Patrol Officers during the summer season. Sussex Shores is a private beach community in Bethany Beach, Delaware, and this position helps maintain the safety, security, and overall well-being of residents and guests.
Primary Responsibilities
Patrol the Sussex Shores community using your personal vehicle and by conducting periodic foot patrols.
Drive slowly and attentively throughout the neighborhood to observe community activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor common areas, beach access points, and neighborhood streets for unusual or suspicious activity.
Promptly report unusual observations, safety concerns, property damage, or rule violations to the Sussex Shores Security Committee.
Contact local law enforcement immediately if serious incidents, criminal activity, emergencies, or threats to public safety are observed.
Serve as a visible presence to help deter unwanted activity and promote community safety.
Maintain professional and courteous interactions with residents, guests, and visitors.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain personal automobile insurance.
Must have access to a reliable personal vehicle for patrol duties.
Strong observation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Schedule
Part-time seasonal position.
Regular patrol hours:
Thursday: 9:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Friday: 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Saturday: 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Sunday: 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Weekend and holiday availability
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
Approximately $25 per hour.
