I’m testing the waters here. I’m looking to trade a sleeping space for help with children for the next 9months to a year.
My situation: I am a homeschooling full time mother of 4 children who is also trying to build a business to achieve financial independence from a long standing abusive partner. I’m going through a custody separation with the children’s father who is a self centric bully. The house was purchased to create stability for the children but he is threatening to evict the children and I knowing that I don’t have a source of income and I don’t have another place to go to. He wanted to have the house only in his name to control and dominate although I assumed it was for the well-being for the family. The courts mandated that he pay the mortgage and the bills for the next 9 months while he has a protection of abuse order in place for myself and the house… after that 9 months I’m not sure if I will have to wait for him to file the eviction process…. (I’m tossing around ideas still to stretch out stability for the kids). For me to purchase or even rent I have to prove income and I need time and effort to accomplish that while continuing to homeschool the children. I’m trying to accomplish stability, balance and safety for the children and I and need help to accomplish that through live in childcare help. We live in a split level house 2 miles from downtown Newark.
My 9 months runs out at this house through the court at the end of October 2026+ possibly however long an eviction would take.
The home: We are a gluten free, organic eating, mostly vegetarian (some wild caught fish) house hold. We don’t have a TV but do watch movies on DVDs on a projector. I do have Wi-Fi but keep it off most of the time due to Wi-Fi bouncing around the house hurts our head so we only turn it on if it’s an absolute must for a short period of time.
