condition: like new
make / manufacturer: Chevrolet
model name / number: 10069286
This is (1) of only (700) casted # 10069286 / 454 / LS7.

Said to be among the baddest toughest Mark IV ever cast, by Hotrod Magazine, the only one rated for 1000 plus HP, the only one with Siamese cylinders with 3 1" slots machined between cylinders for coolant flow, the only one w/ 5/8 shanked main cap bolts and so much more…

This one was professionally built and has under 600 miles since it was originally installed in a 70 Nova SS. It easily pushes 540 HP. It is on a key start stand with radiator and gauges hooked up and is ready to start so you can hear it run and check everything out…

The story, according to Hotrod Magazine, is that In 1989 the gmpp guys where looking for new a headquarters out back of the GM. property. They went in an old building. And in a corner office that was locked up they found all the thought to be lost forever casting molds ect... From the 1972 LS-7 454 that was suppose to come in 1973 stingray but didn't. They got the okay to cast 700 LS-7’s. After doing some rather detailed research they addressed the weakness's of the original block. The 10069286 is what they came up with. It’s among the baddest toughest Mark IV ever cast, the only one rated for 1000 plus HP, the only one with Siamese cylinders with 3 1" slots machined between cylinders for coolant flow, the only one w/ 5/8 shanked main cap bolts.

When they were done Research and Development department came and took there modified mold and formulas for more research and the new generation 5 and 6 engine are based off of the 10069286 which kinda makes it the grandfather of the new 572 crate motor and all gen 5 and 6 blocks.

This is a 1990 4 bolt main Mark IV 454 High Performance (block) sold over the counter at gmpp. They were a (1) per customer only. A crate engine outfit could not purchase these.

~ This information was in an an early 1990’s Hotrod magazine.

It’s ready to drop in and enjoy!
