She’s smart, loving, and already learning so much — from heeling past wildlife to sitting politely at ice cream stands! Katie is eager to please with guidance and ready to be your loyal, active companion.
Katie is a beautiful, athletic girl who has been blossoming during her time out of the shelter. She’s been learning so much — from heeling past wildlife, people, and other dogs in public, to practicing sits at ice cream stands, on “place” platforms, and even on big rocks!
🌟 Strengths:
- Affectionate with everyone in the home — men, women, and a 15-year-old child
- Car rides well (calm most of the time, a little excited when it’s adventure time)
- Athletic and loves long walks, jogging, hiking, and outdoor time
- Gentle with treats, no resource guarding of food or space around family members
- Low toy and chew drive, non-destructive indoors
- Comfortable with stairs, loading/unloading from vehicles
- Can settle calmly in the same room with her family
- Recently had a heel training- and can heel well on leash, even around other dogs at a safe distance
- Great in public — curious, confident, and loves checking out the sights and sounds
- Enjoys lounging on a porch or deck in quiet moments
🛠 Things She’s Working On:
- Continuing obedience
- Building comfort with day-time crate time/separation but has been making some progress
Katie is handler-soft, eager to please, and has responded beautifully to training so far. She would thrive in a home that offers a balance of activity, guidance, and calm time — with someone who enjoys continuing her training and providing routine.

- Someone active who can give her physical exercise and mental work
- A family that appreciates an affectionate, family oriented dog who loves to be part of daily life
