Purpose: The Marketing Manager will oversee all marketing and merchandising aspects of the store and café. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: produce and execute a marketing plan; develop and maintain a strong Public Relations program; produce Co-Op publications; oversee and coordinate activities with other store personnel to create and maintain store image.
⦁ Leadership of Marketing Program
⦁ Develop, implement and maintain a marketing strategy and budget that includes marketing in-house, marketing out-of-house, public relations and community involvement.
⦁ Investigate and implement new avenues for promoting the Co-Op (participation in local community events promotion with local businesses) including new ways to use technology.
⦁ Establish advertising and media contacts; negotiate advertising contracts.
⦁ Create advertisements and brand identity.
⦁ Create publications including, but not limited to, newsletters, flyers and email notices.
⦁ Maintain the website.
⦁ Produce a monthly newsletter; oversee content and production.
⦁ Develop, maintain and enhance good community relations.
⦁ Understand local, regional and federal issues in the government and the media that impact the Co-Op.
⦁ Maintain social media campaigns.
⦁ May supervise or oversee the work of marketing assistant(s) or volunteers.
⦁ Customer and Member Relations
⦁ Help plan and implement special events.
⦁ Member Appreciation Days.
⦁ Ability to be creative, artistic and responsive to changing needs of the store and café.
⦁ Ability to schedule and organize work so as to meet tight deadlines flexible.
⦁ Strong computer/software skills including Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe graphic software, other graphic/publishing programs.
⦁ Ability to handle multiple demands and prioritize tasks; high tolerance for stress.
⦁ Ability to project a friendly, outgoing and calm personality.
⦁ Ability to work efficiently and to motivate others to do the same.
⦁ Knowledge of Co-Op values, food industry issues and natural foods.
⦁ Knowledge of local competition; products, pricing, merchandising and promotions.
⦁ Excellent communication and listening skills.
⦁ Experience working with diverse groups.
