PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Section Engineer provides technical leadership in the planning, design, and execution of projects involving Exelon's utility infrastructure including electric or gas distribution, transmission, substions, and reled systems. This role involves mentoring junior engineers and includes stregic planning, leading complex engineering studies, and ensuring engineering excellence across projects and operions within the section. Champions cross-functional collaborion and continuous improvement across engineering operions. Work can include Directing engineering studies and contributes to performance evaluions across the section / segment of responsibility. Setting priorities for safety, reliability, and regulory compliance. Approving budgets, work packages, and technical specificions Leading cross-functional coordinion and external partnerships. Supervising field activities and ensuring resolution of complex issues May be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Leads highly technical consultion and training through OJT/OJE (may include some classroom instruction as well) on highly complex and unique technical areas requiring the applicion of advanced engineering principles and may require advanced knowledge of complex analog and digital field test equipment. 
• Leads the work activities of project teams and others on the implemention of large specialized technical projects and/or programs in order to develop studies, proposals, commissioning plans to support safely energizing and placing major utility and customer systems and equipment on system. 
• Performs assignments while acting independently, and may lead multi-discipline teams, may include providing direct oversight of contractors 
• Participes in department/project management planning, and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results. 
• Provides detailed technical training, mentorship, peer review, and/or guidance to other 
• May participe in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in area of company interest. Serves as an expert in specialized area 
• Acts as an expert witness and provide expert opinions for internal committees or as required 

JOB SCOPE

• Highly influential on stregic management decisions th can have a major impact on the company.
• Support/Lead employees and or contractors in the execution of plans developed to initially energize utility or customer equipment/systems and placed On System.
• Set directions for the organizion in regard to technical issues.
• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer sisfaction
• Cree/develop/advise on scope of work, schedule of equipment, and business justificion for capital projects for major substion equipment, specifically gas-insuled substions, metal-clad switchgear, and circuit breakers.
• Lead acceptance testing, perform technical document reviews, and provide testing and commissioning support as needed for major substion equipment.
• Support operions and maintenance personnel through emergent repairs and system emergencies
• Ensure adeque and accure inventory of spare merial for planned projects and anticiped failures.
• Cree/develop/modify process and procedure documents to facilite adeque knowledge transfer.
• Coach and develop engineers on similar scope as listed above.
• Develop and share best practices across our Exelon OpCos and within the power utility industry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Gradue degree (1) or Gradue level work in Engineering, Business Administrion or Project Management Certificion
• Possess Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificion and/or Professional Engineer license (2) (3)
• 1-3 years of professional supervisory experience and/or demonstred ability to lead the work activity of others.
• Strong written and oral communicion/presention skills, report generion & technical writing skills
• Industry expert who participes or leads industry committees or working groups or has published technical documents.
• Advanced experience in utility infrastructure, such as system analysis, planning, design coordinion, standards development, or project execution.
• A working knowledge of analysis software packages such as CYMDIST, PSS\E, Python, PLS-CAD, Pole Foreman, Power BI, or similar.

• Annual salary will vary based on a candide’s skills, qualificions, experience, and other factors: $112,000.00/Yr. – $154,000.00/Yr.
