I have an 87-year-old Mother who has Dementia. Her long-term memory is intact, and she still takes care of herself. However, she is not permitted to go off on her own. We are seeking companions for her.
The duties will include: Taking my Mother on outings to the museum, theater, library, college campuses (she likes to walk around the campus grounds), bingo, paint, and sip, and church every Sunday. Duties also include the preparation of breakfast and lunch, as well as once, perhaps twice a week, and finally taking her out for lunch. We are forming a poetry/prose club, which will meet once or twice a month. This will fall under your duties.
I will need the following days covered: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm /6 pm, and Sunday (half day). We are willing to hire more than one person to cover these days and hours.
The ideal person will have some experience working with Seniors with Dementia and work well with the other caregiver(s), housekeeper, and company employees (who are present on occasion. They also must be able to pass a criminal background check.
