SUMMARY
Candidate will telecommute daily from home office (phone, computer, printer will be provided) procuring manufacturing materials from established vendors. Working Mon-Friday within a set time window of approximately 2pm to 5:30 EST candidate must review daily requisitions, get quotes from established vendor list via phone and email, and place purchase orders via email with the aim of fulfilling all requisitions on a daily basis. Candidate will be in constant communication with Purchasing Manager via Instant Messaging and screen sharing capabilities.

COMPENSATION
Compensation is $18.00/hr working approximately 15 hours a week (avg. paycheck is $540 for a two week period).

DESCRIPTION
The Product Buyer position is accountable for procurement and asset management of over $1 million in purchases through competitive bids with vendors. Position is also accountable for maintaining the integrity of system information; resolving accounting, receiving and customer rejected concerns; ensuring on-time delivery from suppliers including forecasting, scheduling, backlog, inventory mix, orders and order tracking. In addition, position provides assistance to Purchasing Manager in all areas of procurement and may provide back-up support in the absence of the Product Manager.

In addition, qualified persons must poses the acumen and knowledge to assist in the continual improvement and evolution of existing web-based purchasing software. While no programming experience is necessary, Buyer is expected to actively contribute and assist with the design, functionality, and evolution of the software with the goal of improving buyer's efficiency, facilitate communication with vendors, and reduce purchasing costs.

Position is to operate independently from remote location, such as a dedicated home office. Computer, printer, and cell telephone will be provided to candidate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School or General Education Degree (GED) required. Associates Degree in a related field with two to four years of applicable work experience (i.e. working in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment requiring ongoing problem solving/analytical skills) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Four year degree emphasizing either, Accounting, Procurement, Distribution, Software Development, are strongly preferred but not required.
