Physiotherapy Associates, one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing physical therapy rehabilitation companies has a Part-Time opening in our Pasadena, MD clinic for a Technician/Rehab Aide!!!
The Technician/Rehab Aide assists the Physical Therapist in pre/post patient room and equipment set-up. This position will also assist in administrative duties of the clinic including front desk assignments. The position is responsible for following all compliance, Medicare and HIPPA policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- The Tech/Rehab Aide shall at all times be under the orders, direction and immediate supervision of a licensed physical therapist or occupational therapist
- Assist clinical staff with pre/post patient room equipment set-up
- Assures compliance with Federal/Medicare guidelines and company compliance policies
- Clean and maintain all therapy/exercise equipment
- Keep current with laundry and maintains adequate stock of supplies
- Complete OSHA training on a yearly basis and adhere to OSHA guidelines and other governmental regulations for safety inspections, cleaning, disinfecting, storage of chemicals and disposal of waste.
- Observe and report any abnormal patient conditions, reactions and responses to treatment in an effective, professional manner.
- Play a significant role in specific area of facility operations (may be scheduling ancillary services and following up, overseeing a specific program, serving as OSHA coordinator, etc.)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Effective communication skills for accurate, concise and organized oral and written skills for report writing and presentation of information to patient and staff.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Effective organizational, time management and planning skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the course of work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds dead weight alone
- Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a work day/shift
- Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to evaluate, diagnose, and monitor patient needs and to maintain accurate records, recognize people and provide directions.
- Must posses fine motor skills
REQUIRED CREDINTIALS: High school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of training session and training period for a Rehab Aide
- Completion of OSHA training
