The bookkeeper works in support of the Western Quarterly (WQ) Meeting Treasurer by processing payments (approximately 60 checks/year) and receipts (approximately 80 receivables/year) and maintaining the bookkeeping records using a nonprofit accounting software.  The Western Quarterly Meeting maintains three bank accounts and one investment account.  There are approximately eleven restricted or designated funds that require separate accounting.<br>
<br>
End of quarter reconcilement of accounts and funds needs to occur by the 7th calendar day of January, April, July, and October to allow the WQ Treasurer to prepare the quarterly Balance Sheet and the quarterly Statement of Income and Expenditures for presentation at its Quarterly Meeting Business sessions.  Attendance at regular committee meetings and quarterly sessions is not required.<br>
<br>
Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of responsible bookkeeping experience for a non-profit organization using a nonprofit accounting software, preferably QuickBooks for Non-profits; should be able to work independently and demonstrate an ability to process, balance, and adjust accurately a variety of fiscal transactions and accounting data.  <br>
<br>
Contract position is for a one year period paid in monthly installments.  Incumbent is responsible for appropriate wage withholdings and filings.  There is no reimbursement for expenses and mileage.
